Senior High School students of the Abellana National School in Cebu City became the latest to benefit from Youthpreneur, Go Negosyo’s school-based entrepreneurship mentoring program for Senior High School students in public schools aimed at promoting an entrepreneurial mindset and increase financial literacy. The nationwide program made its stop in the southern capital last August 28, 2024.
Joey Concepcion, founder of Go Negosyo, said that the program develops students and prepares them for a life whether in the corporate world or as entrepreneurs. “Youthpreneur is going to help our young students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset be it as an employee or employer,” said Concepcion.
Alma Ruby Torio, Department of Education Asst. Secretary for Curriculum and Teaching, delivered an Inspirational Message via video, expressing the DepEd’s support of entrepreneurship training among the schools.
On hand to speak to the more than 400 students in attendance were top business executives including Profood Intl. President Justin Uy, Zip Technologies CEO Josephine Romero, RNC Marketing Founder & CEO Rey Calooy, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Jay Yuvallos, Mata Technologies CEO Eria Dell Sanco, But First Coffee President Isabelle Magalona, Metal Straw PH Founder & CEO Nadine Ablaza, The Pages Food Group Chairman & CEO Bunny Pages, Menchavez Legal Services’ Atty. Estrella Menchavez, Ideaz Advertising Founder Adriano Zen Pastoriza, P&A Grant Thornton Director Atty. Kim Aranas, and Konverge Builders CFO Renea Tan.
To date, Go Negosyo has conducted Youthpreneur events in schools nationwide, including Laoag, Baguio, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and several cities in the National Capital Region.
