The CEOs and Presidents of some of the largest corporations in the Philippines and in Malaysia came together for a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN Leaders Meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia last September 5, 2023. The meeting was organized by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Philippines and ASEAN BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC), led by chairperson Joey Concepcion (Philippines) and Tan Sri Nazir Razak (Malaysia).

The discussions revolved around furthering trade and investment relations in order to firm up the Memorandum of Understanding for Partnership on Agriculture and MSME Development, which would benefit the palm oil, rubber, fruits, and poultry industries. The MOU was signed in Kuala Lumpur last July 27, 2023 during the State Visit of Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Joining the meeting were ASEAN BAC Philippines’s George Barcelon and Go Negosyo Senior Adviser Dr. William Dar, as well as several members of the Philippine and Malaysian private sector.
