Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion received the Gawad Sanghiran Award on behalf of his father, the late Jose “Joecon” Concepcion Jr. The award was given by the JCI Quezon City Capitol during their 63rd Induction and Turnover Ceremonies held last March 1, 2024 at the Elements at Centris in Quezon City, a few days before the respected civil society leader, businessman and NAMFREL founder died on March 6, 2024.
Joecon led the founding of the JCI (Junior Chamber International) QC Capitol (or Capitol Jaycees) in 1961; the organization went on to become one of the most prominent chapters of the global network.
Concepcion, for his part, took on as his advocacy the development of the country’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the non-profit Go Negosyo, saying that his father mentored him in public service, which he now renders by helping improve the lives of Filipinos through entrepreneurship. He invited members of the JCI QC Capitol Jaycees to join him in mentoring MSMEs and strengthening public-private sector partnership by helping the country’s small entrepreneurs. “I believe it is important for us to help more people and create the circle of prosperity – that as we succeed in life, we help those below,” he said.
Let’s get in touch.
We’d love to hear from you.
