The Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) Award honored 30 National Finalists on April 27, 2025 during an Honoring Ceremony held in RFM Corporate Center graced by Secretary Cristina A. Roque of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Go Negosyo founder and RFM Corporation President and CEO, Jose Ma. Concepcion III. The event was doubly significant as the TOSP Alumni Community (TOSPAC) celebrated its 25th year of commitment to “learning, leading, and serving for life”.
Founded in 1961 by Mr. Jose S. Concepcion Jr, the TOSP Award aims to affirm and recognize recently graduated college students who have excelled in academics, leadership, and community service, while demonstrating integrity, a strong sense of nationalism, and a commitment to the common good. The Awards Program expanded in 2001 to include a formation program that facilitates the growth of the community of TOSP alumni who, individually and together, continue their advocacies and community involvement initiatives as concrete expressions and contributions to nation-building.
Acknowledging the unique circumstances of this 58th batch of finalists whose coming together was delayed by six years due to various circumstances including the COVID-19 pandemic, the batch underwent a two-day formation program, with one highlight being the legacy to nation-building of Mr. Jose S. Concepcion Jr. whose first death anniversary is this year. During the Honoring Ceremony, all 30 finalists were conferred as “TOSP Honorees”, a unique moment in the history of the TOSP Award.
The Thanksgiving Mass, presided over by Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ (TOSP Batch 1990), reminded the honorees of their role as ambassadors of love and integrity amidst the proliferation of fake news, hatred, and greed.
Jose Ma. Concepcion III’s inspirational remarks urged the honorees to help, serve, and contribute to the nation’s greatness.
DTI Secretary Roque’s keynote message encouraged the honorees to lead, act, and serve, emphasizing their role in shaping the nation’s future through leadership and excellence.
Reycel Hyacenth Bendaña, representing Batch 2019, shared their batch vision, highlighting the TOSP recognition as a mandate for continued service and collaboration for a more equitable Philippines.
Pamela Asis-Layugan, TOSP-Alumni Community National Chair and co-founder, honored the legacy of Mr. Jose S. Concepcion Jr., emphasizing his role as a builder of hope and a champion of many causes.
